Privacy Policy

Jabalog is a personal journal for your GLP-1 injections, side effects and weight. The app stores what you enter on your own device. There is no Jabalog account, no Jabalog server and no Jabalog analytics. We, the people who make Jabalog, never receive or access any of it, so there is no pile of your data sitting on our side to lose, sell or hand over.

The short version
  • The app stores everything you log on your device. We never receive or access it.
  • If you turn on iCloud, your data syncs through your own private iCloud. We can't see it.
  • Weight can sync with Apple Health, only with your permission.
  • The app has no accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads and no third-party data sharing.
  • This website uses self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami) for anonymous, aggregated statistics.
  • We never sell your data. There's nothing for us to sell.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller responsible for Jabalog is:

Email: [email protected]

What you put into Jabalog

You enter everything yourself. The app can hold:

Some of this is health-related information. Because it can be sensitive, the app keeps it on your device rather than sending it to us.

Where your data lives

Legal basis for processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent. You provide it by choosing to log your entries (injections, side effects and weight) and, where relevant, by granting Apple Health permission. Because these entries can include health-related information, this is treated as explicit consent for that special category of data. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your entries, turning off Health access or removing the app.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, Jabalog reads your weight from Apple Health to show your trend and saves the weights you log back to Apple Health so they stay in sync. Health data is managed by Apple on your device; Jabalog only accesses the specific data you allow. You can review or revoke this access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing settings.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device at the time you choose. There is no notification server, and no information about your reminders is sent to us or anyone else.

Analytics and tracking

The Jabalog app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers and no cookies. We do not build a profile of you and we do not track you across apps or websites.

This website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we self-host. It collects anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as page views without setting cookies, storing a persistent identifier on your device or tracking you across sites.

Sharing with third parties

We do not share your data with anyone because we never receive it in the first place. The only parties that ever touch your data are you and, if you choose to use them, Apple's iCloud and Health services, acting on your behalf under Apple's terms. Jabalog can link to a third-party nutrition app if you ask it to, but it does not send your log to that app.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you control how long it is kept. You can edit or delete any entry inside the app, delete the app to remove its on-device data and manage or delete its iCloud data from your device's iCloud settings. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights over your personal data. These include the right to:

Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, you can exercise most of these rights yourself at any time: view, change, export or erase entries in the app, and remove the rest by deleting the app and its iCloud data. If you need help or want to make a formal request, contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.

If you are in the EU or UK and believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lead supervisory authority is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information).

Children's privacy

The Jabalog app stores what you enter on your own device and, with sync on, in your own private iCloud. We, the people who make Jabalog, never receive or access any of it, from anyone, children included. There is no data on our side to collect, store or share.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security, including its passcode, Face ID or Touch ID and device encryption, and when you use sync, by Apple's iCloud security. Keeping your device and Apple ID secure is the best way to protect what you log. No system is ever completely secure, but because we never collect your data, there is no central store of it to breach.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app or on this page. Continuing to use Jabalog after an update means you accept the revised policy.
